Micah's First Day of Kindergarten!

Well, it was the moment Micah had been waiting for since Jordan hopped on the bus his first day of kindergarten last year.  Micah was SO ready to become a big boy and start school!  I wasn't sure how I would feel.  Up until that morning I was feeling pretty calm, not anticipating any sadness.  For the most part, I was not emotional....just one little lump in my throat as the bus drove off.  After school, Micah was all smiles, wanting to share all about his day.  The highlight was a scavenger hunt throughout Poplar Bridge, hunting for the gingerbread boy.

My hope and prayer for Micah this year (and for all my boys) is that he would be confident, filled with wonder and excitement for all the things he will learn and do.

As for me....life is a little different now, and I'm enjoying it.  We'll see what this year brings!

First Day of School

I am SO behind on blogging.  We have had such a fun and busy summer, and I've been living in the moment and neglecting my blog.  Now that all the boys are off to school (Micah's first day picture to come tomorrow), one of my goals is to catch up!

AJ is my big 3rd grader and Jordan is the confident 1st grader!  Both boys had a fantastic first day of school (no "low points" for either of them!!).  This is the first year AJ and Lily haven't been in the same class.  But they are still good buddies.  : )

I thoroughly enjoyed my summer with my boys, but we are all READY for the routine of a new school year. I am excited for all that this year will bring.

Mothers Day 2012

Mothers Day Tea

My last preschool Mothers Day Tea.
I confess I was a bit sad....this marks the end of an era.
We are so grateful for Wooddale Preschool and
the imprint of that experience on each of our boys.

Spring Weekend at the Cabin!

 Dinner at A&W
 Movie Time!

Our family was planning on going to the cabin the first weekend of May.
Ama & Agong sold their house (woohoo!!!!) so Lawrence ended up staying back to help out at the house.  We invited Grandma and Grandpa to join us.
Emily & Erica were in Chicago, so we invited Eden & Megan to come along as well.
All 8 of us crammed into the van and had a great adventure.
The kids LOVED playing in the water and collecting rocks.
Can't wait to get up to the cabin again this summer!!!

Childhood Wonder

I captured this shot of Jordan as he came home from the bus.
Love the wonderment in childhood.
Reminds me to stop and "smell the flowers" (or in this case blow the dandelions).
Love this kid.

Agong's 75th Birthday Party

We celebrated Agong's birthday at Friendship Village.
He was surrounded by old friends and his entire family (minus Addison).
A beautiful tribute to a remarkable man.
