Biology

I'm not used to this blogging thing, and keeping it up to date, so hopefully we'll get better at it as time goes on.

We are having a great time learning to be a family of five. Getting out of the house is quite a big deal. Of course, Micah's first outing with us was to Target. But, we still had not been out as a whole family. So, it was a very exciting (yes, exciting is the word) for us to go out to dinner last Thursday to the Good Earth. We had our first opportunity to say, "table for five". I also realized that at this moment that our mean wait time for a table whenever we go out to eat has probably increased by 10-15 min. Table of four is much easier to seat than five.

While we were at dinner, AJ demonstrated to us how observant he is, and how much he has learned in the past weeks about human biology. As we ordered food for everyone, AJ realized that we didn't order anything for Micah. When he asked about Micah's food, we explained that Micah is too little to eat this food. AJ thought about it a second, and loudly exclaimed in public, "Because Micah eats from your nipple?" I guess these are moments we have to get used to.

I'm not sure why the boys are so fascinated with nursing, but they do know that it calms Micah down. Micah was crying the other day, and AJ just simply said, "Momma, you lift your shirt up."

We are loving our family of five. AJ is very interested in holding Micah and "helping" where he can, and Jordan is surprisingly calm and almost interested when Micah is awake. I've had most of this week off, which is helping the transition as Sara's body is still recovering. AJ and Jordan have just started to share a room (because we didn't think we had enough change to adjust to), and they truly love having each other's company. It's been very cool to see how they are actually developing a relationship with one another...not sure if it is because of the change to our family, or if it is coincidence.

I go back to work on Tuesday, so I can get a break. We are so thankful for all the help from both grandmas, which will make Sara's weeks a little easier. We hope for some nice weather, because being couped up in all this rain is making everyone just a little crazy.
