Micah Lawrence!!!!!!

I am proud to announce that Micah Lawrence Wang was born a little before 5pm Central Daylight Time on Monday, March 19th. He is 6lbs 10.6 oz and 20.5 inches long. He is such a blessing! AJ(3-years) thinks his new baby brother is "cute". Jordan(17-months) has taken a little time to warm up to him, but already today was reaching out and saying "baby" (he really doesn't say too many words yet). It already feels very normal to have Micah part of our family. Sara is doing great, and is basically my new hero (sorry, Tom Brady). She's tough as nails to power through this labor and delivery.




We had scheduled to have labor induced on March 19th due to concerns related to gestational diabetes, and checked into the hospital at 7:30am. The nurses started Sara on small doses of Pitocin to get labor started. A little while later, the doctor broke Sara's water. Labor progressed very well with minimal pain. Sara experienced some discomfort and quickly ordered an epidural. All was going well....then came the pushing. Micah was in a posterior position, which made the final stage of delivery quite painful and difficult. Sara basically willed that little guy out of there. ( including a nice punch in the face to me, which is unclear to me if it was intentional or not) We also had the amazing blessing of having our friend Sheila, who is a labor and delivery nurse, be there to help coach Sara through that last couple of hours. Not too many of us get to see friends and family in action at the workplace, so we don't really know if they're any good at their jobs or not. But, I will have to say that Sheila is EXCEPTIONALLY good at her job. Lucky for us, she's helped deliver two of our three boys!!!!

Our hearts are full of joy, and we are overwhelmed by the blessing that all three of our boys are to us. We are humbled by the family and friends who have kept us in their prayers. All along we had an overwhelming peace about this pregnancy and birth, so your prayers were heard. We covet your prayers for the next phase, as we transition to trying to figure out how to do life together. Especially, please pray for Sara for the next 18-years, to endure a house full of stinky men, who think bodily functions are things that should be shared in community and that nice things are only meant to be broken.
